The Role
As Humanitarian Support Personnel (HSP) you will be a member of a large, dynamic, experienced, multisector team of first-class specialist. The teams span a variety of technical humanitarian fields including emergency food security and vulnerable livelihoods (EFSVL), WASH, Protection, Gender, Policy, MEAL and support roles including HR, Logistic, Finance, etc.
HSPs are based at home and would expect to spend up to nine months a year in field programs (pro rata for part time posts) usually spending a minimum of three months on any one deployment, many of our current emergency programs are in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
As HSP finance Manager, you will be responsible to provide financial and managerial support to the response team (including implementation of sound financial controls, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, auditing, financial risk assessment, etc.) You will be supporting program partners and staff country office providing capacity building as well as quality control. What we are looking for
The new HSP Finance Manager will have proven accounting experience and financial management skills, with a high level of computer literacy, excellent working knowledge of spreadsheets, data base and able to learn quickly new accounting programs. Ideally, an important part of the experience being in emergency responses.
You will have proven experience in working in programs funded with a diversity of public and private donors. As well as working with partners.
You will have experience of management and supervisory responsibilities, including decision making and being an active member of the senior management teams.
The HSP Finance Manager is also expected to have good interpersonal and team skills and bring a collaborative approach to the work, along with sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts.
Fluent in English is essential and knowledge of another language (French, Spanish or Arabic) is highly desirable.
