Your role is integral in supporting the HR Business Partnering Team to provide a proactive and professional HR service to the Trust’s Clinical Service Units and Corporate Functions.
Aligned within a dedicated workstream supporting an HR Business Partner and HR Manager, you will work closely with managers and staff across the Trust, supporting them with the provision of professional advice and guidance to ensure that HR policies, procedures and best practice are applied across the full range of employee relations casework.

You will be degree educated (or equivalent) and CIPD qualified (or working towards) and have a drive to contribute to the Trust’s Mission to provide the highest quality healthcare at all times. You will be joining a team committed to delivering an exemplary HR service for the Trust. Recent experience of working in an HR Department in a large complex organisation and of interpreting and applying the law in relation to terms and conditions of employment and HR Policy are essential requirements.

BTHFT is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Human Resources Operations Team.
To provide professional HR support to Clinical Service Units and Corporate Support Departments through a case management approach, with employee relations issues such as performance, discipline and grievances.
To provide professional advice and guidance to Managers ensuring compliance with Trust policies and procedures and advising on best practice.
Support Managers in carrying out investigations in line with the relevant policies and procedures and support with preparation and presentation of management cases at formal hearings.
To provide advice and support to managers on attendance management issues, offering guidance and interpretation on the attendance management procedure and process, advising on best practice. Support and advise managers in respect of short and long-term sickness absence issues, including attending sickness absence meetings with staff.
Using the sickness absence data available, interrogate, analyse and interpret the data to identify trends, hotspots and patterns of absence and ensure the provision of timely workforce information reports to Managers as required.
To develop systems and processes for monitoring sickness absence cases in relation to trigger points, reviews and return to work meetings and to ensure that Managers implement the necessary action in accordance with the Policy.
6.8 To advise Managers and staff on the interpretation of HR policies, procedures, terms and conditions of employment and relevant employment law, utilising external reference sources to ensure a best practice approach.
Assist and support with the design and delivery of training to line managers on the application of HR policies and procedures
Providing advice and support to managers on the Trust’s Probationary Procedure and Flexible Working policy.
Assisting the HR Managers with change management initiatives as and when required.
Advise on job descriptions and associated banding issues and participate in job evaluation panels (subject to job evaluation training).
To work in partnership with the wider HR team including Health and Well-being and Organisational Development.
Maintaining spreadsheets for active casework e.g. sickness, disciplinary, grievance and updating the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) as necessary.
To undertake reviews or projects and initiatives, as required as delegated by the Human Resources Business Partners.
Any other duties at an equivalent level of responsibility as may be allocated to the job or delegated for the job holder’s development.
