Role
The Human Resources Operations team is currently seeking to appoint a 1 fte HR Adviser for a period of 6 to 12 months, with a desired start date of around 1st April 2023. This position is to support the team as the University continues through a period of strategic change.

This is an autonomous, customer focused and generalist role reporting to the Senior HR Adviser. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of experienced HR professionals, providing operational HR solutions in support of the University’s people management agenda including: employment procedure, advice and guidance, organisational change and management development.

Skills & Experience needed
- Substantial experience at professional HR Advisory level, ideally a member of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD)
- Significant generalist HR experience in a large organisation; managing a busy caseload and dealing with complex issues
- Good, up to date knowledge of employment law and HR good practice
- Provide effective advice and support to managers leading on organisational change with regards to University policy and procedures, Trade Union consultation, communications and individual consultation
- Diplomacy, influencing and persuasion skills to engage academic staff and other managers
- Excellent communication and highly developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to work proactively with limited guidance and to self-imposed timescales
