The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the European Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. You will be part of a hardworking, ambitious Global People Team that is constantly learning and evolving with our organization. As European HR Director, reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will use your experience and local knowledge to execute and improve upon our Global People Strategy for 350 European employees.

Here are a few things important to this role:
- Enhancing the employee experience- taking a people and process approach, the HR Director will constantly look at how to make employees aware of the benefits available to them and streamline onboarding and general HR process. By automating tasks for employees and the HR department alike, we can create even more time to focus on proactive employee retention programs and mentorship/leadership training
- Retain and grow current employees- the HR Director will work with our L&D Department and other People Team leadership to develop and enhance our leadership and mentorship programs, and to continue to ensure that those options are available to all employees
- Growth of HR Department and company- Our company is experiencing high growth globally. You will work with our US HR Director to plan for more growth ahead through technology, process and people alignment
- Equity, openness and belonging- We're making strides at understanding the changing world around us and the HR Director will help to design programs and a company culture that is open and welcoming to all employees. We need to make sure underrepresented voices are not only acknowledged but heard. You will be working with our Employee Resource Groups to further advance our collective understanding
- Hold the line on black and white issues, be open to the gray- HR is a people business, first and foremost. You will understand the legal and compliance side of things, but also understand that all situations are unique and you are open to creative solutions, cemented in "what's the right thing to do?"
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily workflow of the HR department, 1 current direct report
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Creates personal and professional development plans for all HR Team members
- Is an active participant and member of Global People Team Leadership
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Work with the CPO to create a People strategy in line with our go-to-market plan and continue to build an organizational culture that aligns with the company’s objectives and employee needs- Ensure the continuous enhancement of HR procedures and policies
- Develop and implement a comprehensive onboarding system throughout the entire employee life cycle
- Create strategies that enhance staff development, engagement, and career progression
- Address key HR issues and avoid potentially costly events that might interfere with company goals
- Lend strategic focus to the L&D team in the creation of training and staff development initiatives
- Develop and spearhead a growth-focused appraisal process, including conducting mid- and/or end-of-year reviews
- Work with Finance to ensure that the company’s compensation systems and goalposts are periodically reviewed and enhanced to ensure motivation, retention, and attraction of employees
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- At least five years of human resource management experience required.
- Familiarity with UK and Europe employment law
- CIPD qualifications and training and an advanced degree highly preferred
