HR Assistant
We are looking to employ an HR Assistant to support the Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP’s) and work as an integral part of the HR function. You will have outstanding organisational, administrative and communication skills. The role requires you to accurately follow instructions, with the ability to multitask and acclimatize to a fast-paced environment. To ensure success, you should display problem solving and decision-making skills with a solid understanding of employee relationships, HR Processes, Policies and Procedures. The role will be internally and externally facing, working with other business functions and external partners as required. The role would be ideally suited to someone with aspirations to become an HRBP in the future and develop within Cigna.
HR Assistant Responsibilities:
Assist HRBP’s with all people processes
Supporting internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR function
Compiling and maintaining paper, digital, and electronic employment records
Maintaining HRIS systems and preparation of HR reports and information
Liaise with and provide guidance to managers and employees on routine HR matters such as absence discussions, completion of processes etc.
Providing guidance on HR Policies and Procedures
Reviewing and updating policies, procedures, forms, and letter templates in line with agreed changes to internal practice or to legislation
Minute taking at Employee Relations meetings
Preparation of routine letters and documentation
Liaise as required with internal teams such as Payroll, Talent Acquisition, L&D, Finance, Comps & Bens, etc.
Supporting with any HR communications, events, seminars etc.
Coordinating projects with guidance and support
Maintain calendars of the HR management team
Continuous learning of best practice to improve HR efficiency
HR Assistant Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in human resources or related subject
2 years of experience as an HR Assistant
Knowledge of Employment Law and ACAS Codes of Practice
Effective HR administration and people management skills
Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related HRIS, business and communication tools (working knowledge of Workday is preferable)
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Able to work on own initiative and make decisions as appropriate to the role
Ability to accurately follow instructions
Required to travel to both the Glasgow and Greenock office
