Our Human Resources Team is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join the University. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small, collaborative team who work closely together; sharing expertise and knowledge to contribute to the University’s growth. You will have an excellent generalist HR background with previous experience of providing advice and guidance to managers, managing employee relations matters and an ability to support organisational change. You will be confident in building strong working relationships with stakeholders, working closely with academics and central service staff to understand their requirements and challenges, providing solution focused advice.
As a small HR team the role provides exposure to a wide variety of HR, change management and organisational culture work and presents an opportunity to be involved in a breadth of HR matters including:
Providing high quality advice, support and guidance to managers on all operational HR and employment issues;
Managing the administration of recruitment, onboarding and contractual arrangements
Managing a varied employee relations caseload, including change management, absence, performance management, capability, disciplinary, and grievance;
Identifying and coordinating training programmes, CPD and staff development;
Interpreting key HR metrics, data and insight to support business decision making;
You will be a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the drive, enthusiasm and flexibility to work on your own initiative and deliver high quality results in a busy environment. Importantly you’ll be a collaborative team player, who enjoys varied work in a friendly and supportive environment.
You will hold a CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above), or have demonstrable HR experience. Experience of working in the Education sector would be advantageous.
Our HR service requires an on-campus presence, so the role will primarily be in the office. However flexibility can be discussed with the opportunity for occasional home working, in the event that office cover is maintained.
