Description
We are recruiting a Human Resources Adviser Apprentice to provide a generalist HR service in-person and remotely to our employees located across Great Britain. This is an ideal opportunity if you have a strong background in HR administration, have great people skills and are seeking the next step in your HR career.
Joining a small HR team, in this hands-on, developmental role you will experience many aspects of managing and developing people. There will be space for your skills to grow, providing HR support and advice to our scientific, agricultural, horticultural and administrative staff.
Your experience with HR systems and processes, along with your ability to work collaboratively and consider different perspectives, will be key to your success as a key player in a project enabling different users make best use of our digital systems.
As HR Adviser Apprentice, your duties include:
- Managing case work on a range of HR matters for the whole employee life cycle, such as in recruitment, performance, employee relations and well-being.
- Analysing and reporting HR data.
- Undertaking project work, such as assisting with reward strategy development.
- Collating training needs and researching options for training provision.
- Support the HR admin team with the administration of HR processes, including payroll.
Entry requirements
Essential requirements:
- Must have at least a grade 4 in GCSE Maths and English
- Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Wide experience of HR administration and using digital HR systems
- Basic understanding of UK employment law and HR good practice
- Competency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, SharePoint
- Numeracy and data handling skills
- Excellent organisational skills
Desirable requirements - Ideally you will also have:
- Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) level 3 qualification.
- Experience of supporting and guiding staff on a range of HR issues
- A driving licence or access to independent means of travelling, enabling you to travel very occasionally to our sites across England. Transport can be provided.
- Alongside working, you will undertake a 27 month HR Consultant/Partner Level 5 Apprenticeship, which includes the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management qualification, helping you gain a deeper understanding of the professional behaviours that lead to organisational success.
- 20% of your time on the programme will be off-the job-training, delivered mostly through distance learning.
- Paid study leave and all course fees will be funded by NIAB.
