Team Overview:
This position is with LaSalle Investment Management’s Debt Investments team (the “Team”), a specialist business which invests fund capital into structured real estate debt and value add equity investments across Europe, covering a broad spectrum of asset classes (across residential, commercial, alternative, and operational sectors). The team was set up in 2010 and has become one the largest providers of alternative finance on commercial real estate in Europe, having invested €4.3bn in c. 90 transactions across 10 funds or strategies as of September 2021 the team successfully raised over €5bn of capital since 2010, with over €1bn recently raised for the new flagship LREDS IV and value-add focused funds.
Role and Accountabilities:
This role will report to the Managing Director of Legal, Debt Investments, and will be a key member of the Debt Legal team.
LaSalle Debt Investments are a non-bank lender for real estate. The main focus of this role is on loan book management and debt transactions. This role would also assist the equity side of the business as and when required.
The individual will focus on funds and transactions.
Working with the loan asset management team on loan administration
Working with the investment team on new loans, refinancings, syndication and any other investment workstreams
Leading corporate and loan restructuring with a focus on downside protection
Representing the legal team at investment committee, when required
Providing cover for the Managing Director, Legal during holidays
Assisting the equity team when they are acting as borrower, or when a legal view is required
Assisting in the training and management of secondees
Acting as a key member of the legal team, and a reliable contact for the wider team
Required Qualifications & Experience:
6+ years PQE
