Introduction
We are looking for a Human Factors Engineer to support the operations and maintenance of maritime and submarine programmes.
My client is a world-class engineering consultancy who operate within the defence and nuclear sectors, and are leading the engagement of highly complex programmes for the UK MOD.
You will have the opportunity for remote working in this contract, however some on-site work in Plymouth will be required throughout but this may only be a few times a month. Candidates must also hold an active SC Clearance to be considered for this opportunity.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare Human Factors Substantiation Reports (HFSRs), including:
- Task Analysis;
- Development of Fault Trees;
- Calculation of an Initial Human Error Probability (I-HEP) (e.g. Performance Shaping Factors (PSFs) and Error Producing Conditions (EPCs).
- HF input to Verification & Validation (V&V) activities
- Engage with wider safety teams to ensure successful HF integration
Skills & experience
- Chartered engineer or working towards this
- Demonstrable HF experience
- Understanding of the following methodologies:
- Hierarchical Task Analysis THERP, HEART, NARA (preferable)
- Experience with a recognised Fault Tree Assessment package is also preferable, e.g. Fault Tree+.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders
