Scope of Work:
Kent is looking for an HSSE Advisor to join the UK Engineering and Consulting team. This position will provide coordination and implementation of the company HSSE management program throughout Kent’s UK offices, including surveillance visits to UK Work Sites. In this role, you will support the UK Operations team in all aspects of safety, occupational health, and environmental matters. The HSSE Advisor will be a hands-on support role to implement, improve, monitor, and resolve any HSSE issues. This is expected to be a part-time role, flexing to suit the needs of the business through the year.
Key Deliverables:
Have comprehensive knowledge of UK HSSE requirements and ensure full implementation and compliance throughout UK offices.- Prepare/update relevant documents to comply with UK HSSE requirements (e.g. risk registers, compliance obligations logs, etc.).
- Communication of HSSE Policy, and applicable legal requirements.
- Attend internal and external HSSE meetings and Client Forums as per the requirement of the Company.
- Facilitate and provide support and guidance on effective HSSE risk management in UK offices.
- Promote Hazard identification and reporting, and identity unsafe working conditions and behaviours.
- Closely monitor the compliance with permit to work system as applicable on work sites.
- Ensure the full implementation of the waste management plan and ensure waste is discarded correctly.
- Ensure the emergency response preparedness plan is fully implemented and employees are aware of the emergency protocols.
- Ensure all corrective actions from incident investigations and internal/external audits are effectively implemented on time.
- Ensure employees have the relevant HSSE training for the work at hand in accordance with the relevant HSSE Training matrix.
- Ensure Toolbox talks are effectively performed as per the company requirements, reporting back to the business on any shortfalls.
- Advise actions based on outcomes of DSE assessments.
Key Requirements:
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)- NEBOSH General Certificate a minimum Requirement
- Have comprehensive knowledge of UK HSSE requirements.
- Knowledge and a good understanding of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
- Must have good experience and understanding of how to implement HSSE requirements in the field.
- Must be able to perform thorough site inspections and have the ability to close them out in a timely fashion.
- Understand the principles of risk management.
- Trained DSE assessor desirable.
