Working Hours - 37.5 hours per week
An Assistant Technician vacancy has arisen for an individual to become part of the HSDU Team. The successful individual will become proficient, through training, in providing Quality Sterilised goods and services to both Internal and External Customers.
- To prepare goods and services for customers utilising all areas in department
- To assist with distribution of sterile and clean supplies to theatre, wards and other departments
- To undertake operation of equipment e.g. Washer disinfectors and sterilisers
- Be receptive to training and development
- To assist with stores handling and stock control
- Give support to senior departmental staff
- To contribute to an effective, motivated and competent workforce and comply with high quality standards
- To comply with current systems for recording, collation, monitoring and feedback of appropriate information
- To monitor and control Production within HSDU, ensuring that all priority requests and contractual turnaround times are adhered to.
- To ensure that both the Trust & Departmental Values and Behaviours are adhered to at all times by all members of staff within the HSDU Department.
- Previous experience of working within a Sterile Services Department is desirable but not essential as full training will be given

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £23 (standard) or £43 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment.
