Job Title: HR Specialist

About us:

Epson Telford Limited was established in 1987, we are on a 50-acre site and operate a 24/7 manufacturing site.

We are the only European manufacturing and distribution site for ink cartridges and textile inks.

These products are shipped to an Epson warehouse in Germany where they are then distributed throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Quality and innovation is at the heart of everything we do, from our Cleanroom environment to our in-house machinery, design and technology improvements from which we use our own Epson 6-axis robots.

Hours of work:

Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm

Position Summary:

The HR Specialist will be working at an operational level.

An active HR member and contributor as a support to the management Team, providing input, and guidance on HR related issues to successfully meet the business objectives.

The main duties and responsibilities for this role:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and company policies
  • Manage employee records and maintain the HR system
  • Oversee the employee benefits programs and handle related inquiries
  • Support the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Handle employee enquiries, concerns, and grievances in a professional and timely manner
  • Collaborate with managers and employees to resolve conflicts and promote positive working relationships
  • Assist and conduct investigations into employee complaints, as necessary
  • Assist in performance management processes, including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics
  • Analyse HR data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential risks
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports
  • Support the implementation of employee development plans and career progression initiatives
  • Handling of Personal Injury claims
  • Day to day management of HR team including payroll function
  • To develop and maintain working relationships of trust and credibility
  • Lead HR Projects according to overall HR strategy and needs, ensuring buy-in and timely execution
  • A true hands-on approach to successfully monitor and ensure a high level of employee engagement
  • Coaching and mentoring at all management levels, whilst being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ensure effective management of HR staff so that they are fully trained, motivated and organized to meet department and business objectives

Qualifications – essential:

  • Degree educated, or equivalent, and CIPD qualified

Experience Required – essential:

  • HR generalist experience specifically in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have a solid understanding of employment laws, with the ability to communicate and act on them clearly and timely
  • Proven track record of providing HR support to various business models, business priorities/strategies, and company cultures
  • Must have excellent verbal presentation skills, with strong communication capabilities in small and large group sessions
  • IT literate (MS Office)
  • Willingness to work hand-in-hand, creating strong connections, with employees and managers side-by-side on the shop floor to provide solutions
  • The ability to prioritise and manage multiple priorities with a results orientation mindset
  • Demonstrable Leadership skills and vision in managing Staff and projects or initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style, evidence of being a strong communicator
  • Ability to motivate others and influence work behaviours
