We are looking for an engaging, motivated HR professional to join the Senior Leadership Team at GSK’s Worthing manufacturing Site.

HR Site Lead

The HR Site Lead provides business and HR strategy leadership at across the Worthing site, to make a positive difference to the GSK employee experience. The HR Site Lead serves as a member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) and coaches business leaders in the delivery of key HR activities (supporting business strategy and improving business performance). In addition you will collaborate with (and navigate other areas of) HR to deliver the right customer experience in alignment with the HR Operating Model.

In this role you will

  • Lead and drive the effective delivery of diverse and complex change projects (i.e. culture change projects, workforce restructuring, organisation design, etc.) in support of the business’s strategic agenda. Champion and influence senior leaders to effectively lead change.

  • Lead initiatives that enable the organisation to have the best leaders at all levels, with the right capabilities to motivate, focus, develop and care for the people and a culture of purpose and performance.

  • Grow leader’s leadership and people management capability to enable them to build high-performing teams

  • Drive best in class talent management and succession planning in the area supported to build a high quality, diverse talent pipeline that supports business growth now and in the future. Apply business insight to diagnose future capability gaps – Future workforce mapping and capability planning, succession planning and talent management

  • Coach and challenge leaders to increase diversity through talent management and recruitment, identifying opportunities to bring through / bring in diverse talent and challenging bias within talent activities.

  • Leading employee engagement initiatives across site

  • Coach and support senior leaders in the delivery of key HR activities, in alignment with the HR operating model and respond to complex, escalated queries from line leaders around HR policies and processes

  • Integrate a coaching approach into interactions with leaders and coach and build line manager capability to create a positive employee environment

  • Partner with various HR delivery channels to support Site level initiatives and assist with delivery of HR CoE and/or People Services special projects. Working as OneHR to deliver HR services to the business.

  • Ensure HR risks are mitigated, company reputation is protected and related financial, legal and policy duties are carried out. Manage escalations and support the business to create a positive employee environment. Support resolution of site IR issues and partner with ER Services to implement strategies to mitigate issues and/or enhance performance.

  • Support the SLT with ER/IR relationship management

  • Understand the HR Risk environment, identify potential HR risks and escalate to appropriate parties to develop mitigation strategies.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the business.

  • Leverage technology and HR systems to identify data and insights that support business strategy. Successfully manage and track progress of the area supported against key HR milestones, deliverables and metrics

  • Promote learning, leadership development and coaching opportunities with business leaders

About You:

This role would suit a driven and motivated individual who has experience of delivering complex HR operational solutions and strategies. You will be a degree-qualified HR Professional with a proven ability to deliver. It is crucial you have an ability to bring various teams together to achieve common goals and that you can navigate competing priorities to find solutions with your colleagues (at pace).

We are seeking a strong people-person, capable of empowering and developing team-members and colleagues, as well as improving knowledge and capability across the site when it comes to HR best practice. You will be a member of the site’s leadership team so proven culture development is important, as is your ability to build successful networks across the business (which cover other senior leaders, as well as colleagues at all levels). You will also be resilient and calm under pressure. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills are considered essential to the role. You will also have a strong continuous improvement approach.

About Worthing Manufacturing Site:

Manufacturing at the Worthing site is for antibiotics in the oral form (penicillin). It is advised that you take this into consideration when deciding to apply for this position.
