The Department for International Trade (DIT) is looking for a HR Recruitment Advisor for a role within our dynamic Resourcing Hub. This role sits in the Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) Recruitment team, who provide a tailored recruitment service for specialist technology and digital roles; visit our websitefor more details and to see the roles we are recruiting for. As a Recruitment Advisor, you’ll be the friendly face of the department to candidates throughout the process, from applying right through to their first day, and the first line of support to our hiring managers. Enthusiasm for recruiting the best talent into DIT and ambition to improve your knowledge, skills, and expertise are vital. You’ll need to be able to structure your own day to meet targets as well as work within a busy team, and to be a strong communicator who is able to manage stakeholders.
You will have the chance to get involved in a variety of projects and complete DIT sponsored professional training and apprenticeships.
Job description
You will be undertaking all elements of recruitment activity, including:
- Acting as first point of contact for hiring managers and candidates and providing an expert service on the end-to-end recruitment process
- Regular communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Monitoring, answering, and allocating requests in the shared mailbox, ensuring all queries are answered comprehensively and within a timely manner
- Leading on all administration associated with the recruitment and onboarding of new starters
- Collaborating with colleagues on project work, learning and getting involved in other parts of the Resourcing Hub
- Supporting with reporting and analysing data to identify trends and reporting to stakeholders where necessary
- Ensuring that campaigns and onboarding cases are compliant with DIT’s recruitment and security policies and maintaining a detailed audit trail
Person specification
Essential Skills and Experience
You will need to have demonstrable skills and experience of:
- Experience in a high-volume customer service role
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
Desirable Skills and Experience
These are not necessary, but it would be ideal if you had:
- Experience of working in a HR or recruitment related role
- Experience of working collaboratively in a team
- IT skills and confidence in using Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.)
This role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas. Most DIT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in the office on average. Changes to these working arrangements are available in certain circumstances but must be agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role. Travel to your primary office location will not be paid for by DIT, but costs for travel to an office which is not your main location will be covered.
