The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced professional to support the work of the HR Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) specialist team to advance EDI across the institution and ensure that the University meets its statutory equality duties.
Joining a small but expanding team, you will contribute to the development of policy and practice, and the delivery of projects, guidance and learning materials with an initial focus on race equality. You will play a key role in the development and implementation of HR-led race equality activities, including building awareness of key issues, supporting the development of action plans in collaboration with key stakeholders, and undertaking effective data analysis to support data-driven race equality strategies.
You will act as an equality, diversity and inclusion subject matter expert, bringing knowledge and experience of effective approaches and sharing best practice across the University.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- You will bring a high level of knowledge in EDI and its practical application, using this to provide specialist advice and guidance;
- You will be aware of best practice in EDI to help shape and deliver on initiatives and projects;
- You will have excellent communication skills, able to distil complex information into formal reports, briefings and presentations, to support decision-making, statutory reporting and organisational development.
- As an experienced professional you will be able to settle quickly into a busy team by being self-motivated and adaptable in responding to competing demands.
