At Summa Academy, our HR Partner is a member of our Leadership Team and supports the development of high-quality staff by overseeing, assisting, and managing a broad range of human resource functions, including recruitment, retention, professional learning, growth and development, evaluation, progressive discipline, and recognition. You provide guidance to the Leadership Team in building a comprehensive Summa Academy team profile through collecting qualitative and quantitative data about staff and their experience. Maintain confidentiality of all personnel matters; some duties will involve access to confidential information concerning employer-‐employee relations.

In order to meet our students’ and funders’ needs, we seek a HR Partner who can help us build a team of administrators and clinicians to provide meaningful, high-quality services. Our HR Partner must be relentless in their drive to build a team that believes in our skill and ability to support students and Special Education teams. In return, Summa Academy empowers the HR Partner to lead by removing obstacles and providing the resources needed to succeed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Leadership: Keeps current with Summa Academy’s vision and goals to ensure human capital needs are met to continually improve student outcomes.Utilizes data to make informed decisions and support Directors in human capital management.
- Collaboration: Establishes and maintains a strong, positive working relationship with other members of the Leadership Team to support the sourcing, assignment, induction, retention, development, and performance of high-quality candidates for all positions.
- Consistent Improvement: Assists the Directors in analyzing relevant HR data regarding quality, turnover, absenteeism, and other significant levers in improving workforce excellence.
- Recruiting: Oversees recruitment systems, processes, pipelines; collaborates with the Leadership Team on best matches for vacancies.
- Onboarding: Implements screening and selection procedures and finalizes candidate eligibility before final processing. Guides new hires through the on-boarding process to ensure timely completion.
- Employee Relations: Oversees and supports managers in addressing all employee relations regarding topics such as leaves of absences, accommodations, workers compensation, and support and resources to address personal matters that impact job consistency or performance.
- Resource Planning: Prepares reports for Leadership Team to keep them apprised of human capital needs and staffing issues.
- Performance Management: Supports Leadership Team throughout performance management processes and collaborates with managers to ensure effective improvement or exiting of low-performing employees.
- System Management: Oversees and manages all Human Resource information systems (HRIS) and any issues related to human resources. Utilizes all HR information technology and adapts to new technologies quickly. Organizes all files/folders for team to access.
- Compensation: Oversees and manages payroll and serves as liaison and support to managers regarding a variety of human resources issues that affect salary and payroll.
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Ability to use data to drive decision-making – Identifies, analyzes, and uses key human capital metrics to make updates and changes to HR policies in support of staff quality. Shares data with key stakeholders.

Emphasizes and advocates the importance of human capital’s role serving schools and especially students in communications with internal and external stakeholders.

- Ability to communicate effectively – Effectively utilizes oral and written communication skills to engage and inform both internal and external teams.
- Ability to drive compliance - Maintain records and prepare comprehensive reports, including State and Federal mandated reports to ensure compliance with regards to all staff requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in public administration, education, human resources management, business, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, or a closely related field. Master’s degree in the above fields or JD preferred.
- Current SHRM certification
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems preferably Paylocity
- Knowledge of human resources processes in educational settings, legal, or employment procedures
- Knowledge of Labor Law relative to Ed Code
- Experience in human resources management; some of which has been in a large organization
- Experience in dealing with employee relations issues
- Strong analytical skills that inform problem-solving and decision-making capacity
- Demonstrated customer service skills, leadership ability, and decision-making skills

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
