The Department of Education have an exciting and interesting opportunity for an HR Officer to join its team, working closely with the HR Manager, HR Assistant and departmental staff providing a professional and efficient HR service to the department.
Education is a busy teaching and research department and as HR Officer you will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of HR related topics. You will be a confident and reliable point of contact for all HR enquiries, as well as taking ownership of the full recruitment cycle, advising line managers on their recruitment needs, designing job descriptions and managing the recruitment process right the way through to the on-boarding of the member of staff. You will manage the casual worker process, including payroll ensuring that we adhere to University policy at all times.
You will assist the HR Manager in developing, reviewing and implementing internal processes ensuring that we are continuously improving and providing an excellent service. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in HR projects and new initiatives as we continue to improve the HR function.
As the successful candidate you will have proven experience of confidently and successfully advising managers on a range of HR related topics, having previously worked in a HR team managing HR processes. You will be CIPD qualified or working towards graduate level or have equivalent HR experience. You will have sound knowledge and experience of the application of UK employment law and Home Office regulations for Visas. It is also essential that you have experience of developing new processes, maintaining them and providing continuous improvement. You should have strong self-management with the ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous tasks with experience of successfully working to and achieving deadlines.
