Job description
We are currently looking for a Human Resources Officer who is able to work in a fast-paced environment, be reliable with their timekeeping, is adaptable and flexible in their approach to work. You will need to be able to cope well under pressure, be self-motivated and confident. This role will also have responsibility for supporting the general manager and management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be the first point of contact for all day to day HR queries, liaising with the Senior Management Team, Team Leaders and employees;
- To manage the recruitment process, which involves developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates;
- Responsible for maintaining and monitoring holiday, attendance and sickness absence records and to advise the appropriate manager when necessary and guide on the return to work meeting process;
- Supporting management with complaints, grievance and disciplinary procedures;
- Ensuring the training and development of new and existing staff;
- To conduct new starter inductions and administration;
- Managing the appraisal process on a quarterly/ annual basis;
- To update and record employee details on the HR system and managing physical personnel files for all employees;
- To work with the finance department to process payroll, overtime, new starters, leavers, adjustments, sickness, maternity and paternity leave etc, and to write the letters accordingly;
- Start to end of the recruitment and selection of new staff, including advertising, sourcing and interviewing;
- Interpreting, advising and keeping up to date on new employment law and updating the relevant departments when necessary;
- To understand existing and implement new policies and procedures in line with the business’ objectives;
- Promote equality and health and safety;
- Monitor employee absence/time keeping and advise/guide managers on the return to work meeting process;
- Maintaining the Data Protection and General Data Protection Regulation (2018) policies, training, queries and mailbox.
Requirements:
- A HND, degree or postgraduate qualification in Human Resource Management;
- A qualification from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) – Level 3 or Level 5;
- At least 2 years’ experience in operational Human Resources;
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
- Prepared to work with all departments within the company;
- A high attention to detail;
- Ability to work to strict deadlines with multiple projects;
- An ability to build relationships at all levels across the company;
- Analytical skills;
- A flexible, positive approach to work;
- Knowledge of Data Protection and GDPR.

Salary: £38,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
