About the Role


The strategic business partnering team will provide consultation on people strategy, policies and programmes to their Business Unit. The Generalist People Consultant reports to the Line of Service (LoS) Senior People Consultant and is responsible for supporting the Senior People Consultants to execute the People strategy and provide strategic support to their Business Unit/LoS across all areas of the People agenda.

Key areas of responsibility include

  • Supports the Generalist Senior People Consultants in providing consultation on people strategy, policies and programmes for their Business Unit/LoS

  • Leads on people related cyclical activities for their Business Units, including performance, reward and talent management.

  • Supports People function sponsored strategic projects.

  • Provides employee and business insights on people service delivery to the People Solutions team.

  • Works closely with People Solutions and Specialist People Consultants to deliver on daily requirements as well as ad hoc projects and initiatives.

  • Escalates People issues which fall outside standard policies and processes to the Senior People Consultants

  • Supports D&I and Wellbeing & Culture across the people agenda within their Business Unit.

  • Leverages HR data to develop business insights

  • Builds close and trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including Partners and employees, providing support and constructive challenge

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Business partnering experience is essential, with a strong understanding of all areas of HR.

  • Holistic understanding of the Business Partner function and key People Function processes and policies that enable an effective and strategic people strategy

  • Ability to advise and consult with business leaders to help them find lasting solutions to persistent and urgent issues

  • Ability to integrate the core PwC values into all activities conducted

  • Data analytics skills with the ability to use data to provide insights to the business to drive and steer business decisions, this should include experience of data analytics tools and platforms

  • Commercial skills with the ability to turn these into proactive people strategies to drive the business

  • Strong people management and relationship building skills to influence key stakeholders and leadership

  • Strong written and verbal communicator with the ability to adapt working style to influence, negotiate and find resolutions.

  • Proactive approach to business and comfortable working both autonomously and in a team.
