Summary
We are the public body that looks after England`s historic environment. We champion historic places, helping people understand, value and care for them.
Are you curious, creative, and critical? Are you confident in your ability to tell stories with data? Then Historic England’s Data and Information Analyst post is just for you. We are seeking a strong analytical thinker who is experienced in coding and using digital tools and software (e.g., Power BI, Access, Excel, GIS, etc.) to organise, monitor, analyse, and share data accurately and impactfully. You will help us "make the case" for the historic environment using robust evidence and insight.
You will work with an enthusiastic team of analysts in the Socio-economic Analysis and Evaluation team, commissioning research, analysing trends, and producing evidence relating to the performance of Historic England and the heritage sector.
You will support the dissemination and communication of this evidence to a wide audience, both internal and external, technical and non-technical, including writing for the Heritage Counts publication series.
You will help manage multiple projects and datasets, delivering at pace and always seeking innovative solutions, experimenting with data, and delivering new insights.
You will also work with a large and diverse group of stakeholders, combining your data handling expertise with great people skills.
This is a great opportunity to combine your interest in data and telling stories using data with working in a team and for an organisation that is passionate about what they do and is keen to innovate using new technologies and new ways of thinking.
The salary is £30,000 - £35,000 dependant on location and experience). National salary range is: £30,000 - £31,000, Greater London salary is £32,000 - £33,000 and Inner London salary range is £34,000 - £35,000.
Who are we looking for:
- Experience in research, evaluation, and data analysis in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in using a range of tools to manage, code, analyse and communicate data.
- Ability to summarise both quantitative and qualitative data and communicate this to both internal and external audiences in a clear, concise, and effective way.
- An individual thinker and team player.
- Multi-tasking, prioritisation and meeting deadlines.
