Job description
You will be a strong HR generalist with exposure to complex casework. You will be confident in dealing with all aspects of HR and be used to multi-tasking and prioritising your workload. You will work closely with the senior management team to support and deliver the people plan. You must have great communication and influencing skills that work at every level within the organisation. You will have a good understanding of employment law and you will continue to coach and empower line management. You will lead the HR team to ensure all employee lifecycle processes are compliant to our regulatory standards and completed in a timely manner.
This role involves the following key duties and responsibilities:
Provide high quality HR support across the two school sites at Loddon and Taverham.
Build strong relationships with line managers and Academic Heads and Heads of Departments, gain an in-depth understanding of the school to be able to effectively support the school from a HR perspective.
Coach and support line managers and Heads of Departments to build capability to resolve problems and resolve any matters relating to people management.
Provide line managers with advice and guidance and support of day-to-day employee relations matters in a timely manner, in line with policy and legal compliance. Escalating complex or sensitive issues to the Head of HR where appropriate.
Be the subject matter expert in employee relations matters; grievance and disciplinary, absence management, performance management, effectively managing risk to the school. Escalating to the Head of HR/COO as necessary.
Support and coach the HR Officer to develop their HR knowledge and provide opportunities for exposure and practical application.
Support a culture of continuous improvement and high performance using the appropriate tools available and work with Managers and Heads of Departments on the management of performance of their teams.
Implementation and collation of half-termly employee engagement survey. Working with the Head of HR and Senior Management team to develop and implement action plans.
Collate exit interview data, to identify themes and highlight areas for improvement.
Identify skills gaps and development needs in managers and support in the delivery appropriate solutions to develop capability.
Operational HR lead on change programmes and ad hoc projects.
Day to day management of the HR team.
