As the HR Manager, you will lead the people function, creating a great employee experience, providing a professional, commercial and effective HR service through the application of legal knowledge and Company Procedures.
Skills
- CIPD Level 5 accreditation or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of HR compliance/knowledge
- Experience auditing, implementing and working with HR/payroll systems
Job description
- To work closely with all HODs/senior management across the hotel, providing guidance on a full range of operational HR related activities including policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, employment law practices, as well as balancing the needs of the business.
- Support HODs in all disciplinary (including investigations) and grievance matters, providing sound and timely advice
- Support HODs in any performance related matters in line with capability procedure, including Improvement Performance Plans
- Support HODs in matters relating to absence management, including short and long term sickness and occupational health and medical referrals
- Work alongside HODs in managing all maternity, paternity, parental and adoption leave processes
- Provide effective advice to senior management/directors in relation to organisational change
- Provide timely practical advice on individual employee relations matters as they arise, in line with the relevant company policy, employment legislation and best practice
- Proactive approach to providing key HR communication across the businesses
- Keep up to date with employment legislation developments and advise management on compliance and risk factors in a timely manner
- Working closely with learning & development specialists to support individuals progression pathways and any performance related matters
- Monitor and review performance appraisals & Coffee chats, ensuring the processes are carried out in a thorough and timely manner
- Review all resignation letters and support/advise HOD’s with the exiting process.
- Create and participate in a HR working group
- Help maintain a culture and ethos of high performance and team spirit
Recruitment
- To support Hotel in creating descriptive, structured recruitment campaigns which positively reflect Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa and align to UK employment legislation
- To participate in the selection of staff, as appropriate
- Work with the local and wider community to raise the profile of Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa as the employer of choice and attend local recruitment events
Self-Improvement
- To commit to continuous professional development and attend networking events to increase knowledge and build network in the local area
