HR MANAGER | Circa £66,200 per annum plus bonus scheme

Reporting to and working closely with the Village Director, we can offer you a unique opportunity to help shape the future performance of the village by using your HR expertise to nurture a team of star employees. It’s a fast-paced, business-critical role where, as a key member of the senior management team, you’ll be required to:

  • Deliver the HR strategy through the provision of a comprehensive and effective HR service to the whole village, ensuring we’re always on track to achieve our people goals
  • Act as a central source of expertise, providing best practice advice across the complete HR mix
  • Manage a diverse team of HR, Training, ER and OH specialists; partnering with senior managers to support their HR needs and issues particularly in relation to ongoing recruitment and retention, employee relations, succession planning and L&D

As an established and confident HR Manager, with level 7 CIPD accreditation or equivalent experience, you must have a successful track record in managing a large team and be able to demonstrate a comprehensive and practical knowledge of employment law, as well as previous exposure to a diverse range of complex HR issues. Last but not least, fantastic interpersonal, influencing and persuasion skills will be required, alongside a proven ability to champion and steer change in a large, service-driven organisation.

This role will be required to participate in the out of hours Duty Management rota, so will involve working evenings, weekends and public / bank holidays on a rota basis.

As a DBS Counter-signatory, this position will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check as part of the Counter-signatory registration process.

HOURS OF WORK

You will be contracted to work 160 hours per 4-week period (40 hours per week). This role is based on site and your working hours will typically be Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. However, flexibility to work evenings and weekends will be required.

As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis.

ABOUT YOU

Essential requirements:

  • Full CIPD qualification (level 7) or equivalent / or qualified by significant experience
  • Comprehensive and practical knowledge of employment law
  • Generalist HR management experience, including direct management of a large team and with exposure to a diverse range of complex HR issues
  • Strong analytical thinking and decision making
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly those associated with influencing and persuading
  • Sociably confident with strong verbal and written interpersonal skills
  • Numerate and competent on Microsoft office and HR systems experience

Desirable requirements:

  • Previous HR Management experience within a service / operational environment
