Could you be the HR Manager, in Wembley/East Ham that we're looking for?
The role of HR Manager is a key and integral part of our wider HR Team at Alstom. As a growing organisation, we have a variety of interesting and challenging projects to get involved with to drive improvements across all aspects of HR and the wider business.
The focus of this role is to deliver tangible, effective HR guidance, leadership and support to the business. You will have the opportunity to support the activity required to enthusiastically champion initiatives, drive change and introduce new ways of working through communication and engagement.
Take on a new challenge and apply your HR expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Jan Meek, Senior HR Busines Partner for our Services division and work alongside our high performing and customer focused operational teams.
You'll be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, developing and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business supporting and coaching managers to deliver exceptional people managemnt practices and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of the the Regional Electrics teams in Wembley and East Ham, and also supporting the Commuter Fleets teams across Reading, Brighton, Ramsgate and Wembley.
We’ll look to you for:
- Providing proactive, valued-added advice related to manager's business needs
- Supporting Managers in applying best practice HR Management, policies, processes and programs
- Executing recruitment activities, achieving great candidate experiences
- Workig closely with each business manager and successfully execute HR initiatives
- Conducting training of HR process related topics
- Managing ER issues
- Dealing with Trade Union representatives (in particular pay negotiations)
- Handling expatriate immigration and settling-in related process
- EnsuringAlstom's people data management system data is accurate and that proper instructions are given to the HR Admin Team.
- Monitoring the Performance Management Cycle (PMC) including annual and semi-annual performance review, merit increase process, people reviews and development plan
- Managing various employment contract types, benefits and policies
- Monitoring the costs of HR activities – training, recruit and relevant programs to ensure expenditures stay within HR budget.
- Supporting EHS strategy

- Education Degree level/CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
- A background of multi-site support in a HR Manager/Senior HR Advisor capacity
- Generalist HR management experience covering all areas of HR management practice.
- Influence and resilience within a matrix organization structure
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK social and employment legislation
- Experience dealing with trade unions at local and FTO level
- Fluent in the English language, written and spoken
- Comfortable working on own initiative
- Organised
- Willing to challenge the status quo, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Experience supporting with employee engagement
