The role
Sharkmob is a growing game developer with studios in London and Malmö, Sweden. Creativity, passion for craft, and innovation are hallmarks of our young company. 2.5 years into its founding, our London studio is working on an ambitious AAA title and has more than 80 developers. The London studio is growing fast & you’ll be joining at an exciting time, helping build the foundations of our HR function.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated graduate to join our HR team in the summer of 2023 on a one-year internship. During your one-year placement, you'll get to assist our HR team in various tasks, such as onboarding our latest gamers, coordinating employee benefits, keeping our current employees happy and engaged, and other HR-related duties. Every day will be different and the “things to do list” will be varied so this suits someone who is organised, proactive, and flexible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain experience in the field of HR!
Responsibilities
- Support the HR team (& office team where necessary) in the day-to-day administrative operations of the business from an HR perspective. We're a fun and fast-paced team, so there's always something new and exciting happening!
- Manage the background screening process and support any required VISA applications/Right to work applications. Talent support in areas such as candidate travel bookings and relocation.
- Help us onboard our newest hires, which includes preparing contracts, organizing orientation sessions, and assisting with the completion of new hire paperwork.
- Handling the offboarding process for employees; liaising between leads and the leaver, generating leavers’ letters, and ensuring all final payments are processed through payroll.
- Assist with benefit-related administration each month (new hires/leavers). Assist employees with benefits-related questions and issues, referring complex issues to the HR Coordinator. From health insurance to cycle to work, you'll help us make sure our employees have all the information they need to access our benefits!
Requirements
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in HR, Business Administration, Psychology, or, a related field, Graduating in the summer of 2023 and on track for a 2:1 qualification or higher
A motivated self-starter: we will support you, but you will need to be accountable, keen to learn, and proactive in always finding things to do and learn.
Bonus points
- Previous office administration experience, ideally in a professional working environment working with Microsoft Office
