About the Trust
At East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) we provide hospital and community health care services for Colchester, Ipswich, and local areas. Formed on 1 July 2018, ESNEFT is the largest NHS organisation in the region.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Deal with external and internal queries. This may include providing complex or sensitive nonclinical information or advice to patients or relatives.
- Pass on messages as appropriate to the relevant person in a timely way.
- Use initiative to deal with routine and some non-routine problems that may arise, and only exceptionally refer more complex issues to the appropriate person.
- Assist in developing, maintaining efficient electronic and manual filing systems.
- Provide a range of administrative/secretarial support relevant to area, ensuring that urgent matters are actioned and escalated without delay.
- Give guidance, support and empathetic approach to any complaints or concerns raised and liaise with the relevant manager.
- To actively participate in the development of improvements for the service. Incorporate new practices to take account of new technology, demand/capacity tools.
- You may be required to undertake training in your own discipline, which may include new starter induction.
You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
- An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
- Administration experience
- Experience in a similar role
- NHS experience
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent telephone manner
- Microsoft Office package knowledge e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel
