Job Title: HR Helpdesk Agent

About the Trust

At East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) we provide hospital and community health care services for Colchester, Ipswich, and local areas. Formed on 1 July 2018, ESNEFT is the largest NHS organisation in the region.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Deal with external and internal queries. This may include providing complex or sensitive nonclinical information or advice to patients or relatives.
  • Pass on messages as appropriate to the relevant person in a timely way.
  • Use initiative to deal with routine and some non-routine problems that may arise, and only exceptionally refer more complex issues to the appropriate person.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining efficient electronic and manual filing systems.
  • Provide a range of administrative/secretarial support relevant to area, ensuring that urgent matters are actioned and escalated without delay.
  • Give guidance, support and empathetic approach to any complaints or concerns raised and liaise with the relevant manager.
  • To actively participate in the development of improvements for the service. Incorporate new practices to take account of new technology, demand/capacity tools.
  • You may be required to undertake training in your own discipline, which may include new starter induction.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

  • Administration experience
  • Experience in a similar role
  • NHS experience
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Microsoft Office package knowledge e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel
