Human Resources Generalist

As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions within Walsh College. You will be an integral part of the HR department and work closely with employees, faculty, managers, and executives to ensure effective HR operations and support the overall goals and objectives of Walsh College. You will have a strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws, and a passion for serving the next generation of business and technology leaders.
Your Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide HR support in all functional areas, prioritizing the needs of employees, faculty, managers, and executives
  • Prepare and maintain HR records and reports, utilizing the Company-designated HRIS system (Paycom)
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and communicating HR policies and procedures
  • Assist with administering compensation and benefits programs
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a performance management system and process
  • Assist with Employee Relations, providing guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and programs
Your Qualifications Include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum 2 years’ working experience in Human Resources
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, and in HR software preferred
  • Understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
30-Day Goals:
  • Build working relationships with departmental managers by scheduling Meet & Greets onsite and virtually to establish partnership
  • Complete all assigned Learnings within Company-designated HRIS system (Paycom) to ensure advanced system understanding
60-Day Goals:
  • Eliminate physical personnel file management by fully utilizing electronic Document Manager within the Company-designated HRIS system (Paycom)
  • Begin creating Work Instructions to leverage modules withing the Company-designated HRIS system (Paycom) for both departmental and organizational use
90-Day Goals:
  • Develop revised Employee Handbook
  • Begin identifying training needs and developing training programs to ensure compliance
