ESI is now hiring an HR Generalist in Golden, CO.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the human resource generalist provides critical support to the corporate staff and its K-12 charter school campuses with over 200 employees. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The human resource generalist will have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three or more years in a human resources related field
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent strongly preferred
- Human Resources certification (SHRM, HRCI or equivalent)
- Experience managing a human resources management system and applicant tracking systems
- Experience or interest in office and organizational productivity tools and systems like Getting Things Done and Entrepreneurship Operating System (EOS)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Post-offer, satisfactory background check as required by state law and Colorado Department of Education
- Conviction in the values of a rigorous liberal arts education

- Adherence to all policies, including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school and board policies

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Applying all HR policies and company guidelines, ensuring adherence to school and authorizer policies and employment and school laws
- Executing the recruitment and retention plan for approximately 200 (and growing) employees
- Generating internal form documents such as offer letters, employment agreements, and employee performance forms
- Managing and executing the onboarding process, educating new hires on all applicable policies
- Maintaining and managing physical and digital HR files for employees
- Creating employee engagement plans, getting necessary budget approval and initiating activities
- Assisting headmasters and supervisors to executive employee performance and drafting employee surveys
- Assisting with annual benefits enrollment process, collaborating with benefits brokers including health/dental/vision, retirement plans, STD and LTD, Life insurance
- With direction from the HR Director, assisting school headmasters with adherence to paid time off policies and procedures, including leaves of absence and disability, among other programs
- Assisting in the administration of mandatory programs such as the Family Medical Leave Act, Worker’s Compensation, unemployment compensation and COBRA
- Assisting HR management to seek programs to improve staff health and productivity, retain employees and decrease absenteeism and turnover
- Serving a key role in initiatives to increase HR and hiring team efficiency and increase the organization’s capacity to support its employees
