Job description
It is great being a successful and long established UK manufacturing business with well known sector brands - even better now we are part of a leading European Group. However, that does mean we need to put in new people infrastructure and effect good succession planning - that's where this opportunity comes in for someone who wants to learn from one of the most experienced and supportive HRMs you will find. (Plus our support to work towards a CIPD qualification - level 3 initially, followed by level 5.)
Acting as an Assistant to our HR Manager, your key duties will be:
- Using your excellent IT skills to maintain the HR, payroll, and H & S Information Systems with updated employee information.
- Provide Business colleagues with essential people reports/data, and updating Organisational charts.
- Follow up on co-workers trainings.
- Supporting the Recruitment function and onboarding new joiners and actioning leavers (although we try very hard to keep the latter to a minimum!)
- Providing an efficient and effective general administration service to the HR Manager.
- Monitoring the H & S system and procedures.
That is just for starters of course! As someone who will in due course progress to be the main point of HR contact in the business, variety is a core element of the role!
What are we looking for in you?
- As this role could be described as a "super Apprentice" type of role, aimed for someone who wants to further their HR career and CIPD Qualifications, we'd be keen to see what current/previous related HR experience (or in related areas) you are bringing to the post.
- Previous experience in an office based role is essential, as are strong IT Skills with a good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Flexibility: able to change tasks as situations change, focus on priorities and to maintain strong planning and time management skills, together with a full understanding of the need to respect confidentiality.
- Willingness to learn and take up new challenges.
Finally, please note that the post will be based in our new office at Gravesend on a hybrid working basis, and in line with normal office working hours, full time, Monday-Friday.
