This role is part of the People Business Partnering team, providing professional, high quality and customer focused advice for our People and Leaders across the full generalist HR remit. Act as key point of contact for Leaders in supporting day to day operational and employee relations (ER) issues, whilst at the same time supporting the drive for improved Leadership capability, to enable our people to make a difference with real care.
Responsibilities
- Act as an initial point of contact, using technical knowledge to act decisively and provide advice to Leaders and Colleagues on a broad variety of people related matters across the employee life cycle including, but not limited to, maternity, paternity, statutory rights, grievance, disciplinary, sickness absence and capability.
- Proactively manage Policies, Procedures, Guidance and Templates, including the sign off process, to ensure that documents remain relevant and compliant with government legislation and accessible to our People and Leaders via our online ER Hub.
- Manage ER in a positive and proactive manner, working in partnership with relevant Leaders to support them in fulfilling their people leadership responsibilities. Communicating potential areas of risk to the People Business Partner where necessary.
- Assist with the production and analysis of People Metrics and providing insight.
- Ensure integrity of the people data within the inhouse recruitment system, flagging inaccuracies or inconsistencies to the relevant leader to support the ongoing implementation of system.
- Proactively identify ways to improve processes and policies to ensure we continue to deliver a brilliant people experience.
- Monitor external HR best practice and champion proactive change in a collaborative way making suggestions for improvement in line with our ambitions and plans.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience of working autonomously within a commercially focused People environment
- Demonstrable deep level of knowledge of a broad range of UK Employment Law, legislation and People Practices/Policies across the colleague life cycle.
- Experienced and comfortable in making decisions, advising, and coaching across different levels of Leadership.
- Passionate about quality and standards within the People context, with a curious mindset and a desire to drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to make sound judgements and decisions, balancing the needs of the business with relevant legislation and guidance.
- Ability to translate technical information in a clear and concise way, with the ability to tailor communication style and approach depending on the audience.
