Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for delivering high quality HR services? Do you have expertise in coaching, and delivering specialist support across the employee lifecycle? Are you able to lead people and deliver on projects? Then we think we have a great opportunity for you here at Norfolk County Council.
We are looking for HR Consultants to join both our core HR Services team, and our HR Projects team, to help support the organisation and our people across every aspect of the employee lifecycle. These are key roles within our HR team, delivering everyday people solutions through subject matter expertise, providing support and guidance to managers and actively influencing change initiatives through project specialism.
To be considered for the role(s), you’ll need demonstrable experience working in an HR role, ideally in a large and complex organisation. In addition, you will:
- Use your initiative and take clear ownership of your deliverables, working autonomously to prioritise and deliver effectively.
- Be proactive, collaborative and willing at the same time to challenge the status quo.
- Manage and motivate colleagues to meet specified objectives.
- Be a strong and visible communicator that can build a reputation as a trusted adviser and coach.
- Be curious and analytical when it comes to assessing how we continuously improve our services.
- Develop, build and maintain partnerships and networks, both internally and externally.
In return, we can offer you a supportive environment, with a wealth of training and development opportunities to support your longer-term career development. We’re a busy team, so you’ll have lots to get involved with, and will be able to make a positive difference for our employees.
Our current opportunities are;
- HR Consultant (Team Lead) - Advice and Casework ( job description )
- HR Consultant - People Projects ( job description )
These are hybrid roles, with a mix of remote and office-based working. A physical presence in our Norwich office is required for a minimum of one day per week. We are committed to equal opportunities and improving the working lives of our employees and will consider applications to work flexibly, part-time or job share. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.
We have a number of different opportunities open in our HR team at the moment, with a mixture of permanent and fixed term contracts available. We will consider you for the role you’ve applied for in the first instance, but may consider you for other opportunities if you look to have the relevant experience. We’ll make you aware if we are considering you for other roles, providing the details to allow you to decide whether you wish to pursue an application.
You can find out about the rewards and benefits we offer as well as our other terms and conditions.
