JOB SUMMARY
With a seat at the leadership table, the HR Business Partner will provide expert and timely advice on the full range of generalist people issues, developing effective working relationships and influencing and challenging the senior management team in the development and delivery of their people plans in support of the achievement of the functional and HR strategy.
There will be a strong focus on strategic talent acquisition and retention, to ensure the recruitment process is aligned to contribute to the enhanced performance and transformational needs of the business. This is a hands-on role that requires someone to get stuck in operationally, whilst also working on key people projects aligned with our medium and long-term strategic goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic:
- Work closely with the Head of HR and Senior Management Team to develop a people strategy that aligns with the strategic direction of the business.
- Provide support on design, development and deployment of HR initiatives in support of the HR strategy.
- Support the Senior Management Team with talent management and succession planning, ensuring our business remains capable and future proof.
- Foster strong relationships with department heads and develop a strong understanding of their operational and strategic challenges to provide evidence-based solutions and support.
- Coach and lead People Managers to create a culture of high performance and develop employee engagement to support business goals.
- Supporting org design activities providing expert people advice on the structures required to meet the business transformational needs.
- Pro-actively introduce best practice people initiatives, continually aiming to provide the best HR service and establish and build deep and trusted relationships with all functions.
Talent:
- Develop an internal and external framework for talent identification and development
- Work on practices that support Diversity & Inclusion in hiring the very best talent from the broadest demographic
- Work on added value projects to drive our employee value proposition and culture.
- Play an active part in the onboarding process to ensure new talent are welcomed into Maintel and are set up to succeed from the offset.
Operational:
- Work closely with People Managers on all employee relations cases when required including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and ill health capability.
- Play an active role in driving and supporting people performance processes, ensuring effective yearend performance discussions take place, talent plans are identified and development plans embedded to provide internal talent development and opportunity.
- Working with the Senior Management Team to manage the annual salary review process, including salary benchmarking.
- Coach and empower the Senior Management Team and People Managers on all people management topics including training/development needs identification and completion of Personal Development Plans.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- CIPD qualified or equivalent professional experience.
- Substantial HR experience at Business Partner level or equivalent.
- Strong and successful experience in talent acquisition.
- Experience within a fast-paced, evolving business.
- Strong UK employment law experience in dealing with organisational change and complex employee relations activities including harmonisation of terms.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a complex workload.
- Strong presentation skills with proven ability to facilitate, persuade, influence, challenge and build credibility with all levels.
- Solutions based approach with strong commercial and business acumen.
- Analytical and interpretative with strong decision-making skills.
- Experience of management coaching, mentoring and development.
- This role is home based; however, you will be required to travel and therefore must have a full driving licence.
