Job description

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a hybrid, full time (35 hours per week) HR Business Partner to join a team who are responsible for advising managers at all levels on operational aspects of HR across Professional Services Divisions. You will also contribute to the development of corporate HR policy in order to achieve the aims of the HR Strategy and University Plan.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide advice, guidance and support to managers in dealing with issues of misconduct, poor performance, attendance or capability, taking an active part in meetings with managers, staff and their representatives as appropriate
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to managers in relation to the management of change, including restructuring programmes, redundancy, job evaluation, consultation and communication.
  • Use data to proactively manage people related activities such as absence management, resource planning and overall management of the establishment to support the Head of HR Business Partnering
  • Contribute to Divisional projects and processes, to improve service provision.
  • Work closely with the Central HR Services team or other members of the HR team on areas of policy development or implementation, consulting with Trade Union colleagues as necessary.

You should apply if

  • You are a great communicator, building good working relationships with staff at all levels of the organisation.
  • You have significant experience in supporting managers with varied and complex casework, including managing change.
  • You are able to analyse problems, use lateral thinking and generate short and long term solutions.
  • You are used to balancing a busy workload, demonstrating resilience and flexibility in your approach.
