This is an exciting time to join the Torus Group as the organisation is undergoing huge transformation that will modernise the way we work and deliver services to our customers.

The People Services team supports the Group with its people agenda, to ensure that the Group operates efficiently and effectively to deliver its Vision and Corporate Plan.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a People Business Partner to join the team, who can support in making Torus an employer of choice.

You will provide a comprehensive business partnering and advisory service, including early liaison and planning to support business change and transformation plans, ensuring that teams, leaders and all colleagues receive a professional, people focussed and efficient service.

This is an important role in which you will:

  • Be responsible for managing a People Services delivery team to provide an effective business partnering and operational advisory service across Torus, tailored to business needs, taking account of transformation priorities and change plans
  • Work in partnership with leaders, business partners and the wider People Services team to ensure the People business partnering service is aligned to business needs and will achieve the most effective outcomes.
  • Enable leaders to deliver effective people performance management utilising coaching techniques, including attendance management, utilising health and wellbeing strategies as needed.
  • Identify, design and deliver interventions to meet the needs of the employee life-cycle from attraction, recruitment, induction, talent development, life stage and career planning, and retirement

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be educated to degree level or CIPD advanced Level 7 qualification and a member of the CIPD
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in delivering an effective business partnering service resulting in measurable business benefits.
  • Possess experience of supporting large scale restructures and operating within a unionised environment.
  • Have experience of developing and implementing positive approaches to Inclusion in the workplace and in the delivery of services to customers and the community.
  • Demonstrate experience in supporting managers to deliver effective people performance practices, utilising recognised policies and procedures.
