About the role
The role has a dual responsibility – firstly to support the Sales & Service Division on day to day operational topics, across the full HR remit, and secondly to take the lead on strategic projects that impact on the whole UK & Ireland organisation. The UK team sits within Region Europe and there is the opportunity to get involved in cross-country projects. The role has management responsibility for a small team of HR professionals.
Hybrid working is available although there will be a requirement to maintain a regular presence at both our Blyth and Hemel Hempstead sites, as well as attending Regional meetings throughout the UK which will include overnight stays.
Specific duties include
- Working alongside the Senior HR Advisor provide an advisory service to the Sales & Service Division on employment law and employee relations topics
- Work with managers within the Sales & Service Division to ensure that any initiatives that impact on employees are carried out fairly and in accordance with agreed processes
- Manage the Talent Management process for the Sales & Service Division and support the Division to ensure that we have the right people in the right place at the right time.
- Support on ad hoc projects identified by the Division or wider business
- Working alongside the Recruitment Officer ensure that we attract the best employees to Draeger and successfully onboard them
- Deliver development programmes and facilitate workshops
- Working with the Senior HR Advisor ensure that our HR policies remain legally compliant and are innovative and our wellbeing plan is successfully delivered each year
- Lead on strategic projects, these will change year on year – current planned projects are developing career structures, school engagement strategy, apprenticeship strategy, roll out of SDI (training will be provided) and roll out of Talent Management (Sales & Service Division only)
- Support for the Safety Division on operational issues as required

Proven success in a business partner environment, typically gained over a period of 3 years or more E*
Proven experience of successful project delivery E*
Experience of commercial operations, manufacturing and multi-site working D*
Experience of matrix organisations D*
Experience of managing a team D*
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to persuade and influence at all levels within the organisation E*
