We are looking for a HR Business Partner to join our Audio HR Team in the UK.
As a HRBP at Bauer Media UK you will be working with function Leads within our Audio and Central Teams as a strategic partner. This role includes supporting to implement HR policies and processes in a collaborative way using data insight to inform and influence decisions and support change.
You will be responsible for delivering HR initiatives which are truly aligned to the needs of the business and that support our ambition to build a strong empowered workforce that is skilled for the future, adaptable to change recognising the changing ways of working, digital advancement and commercial challenges.
You will partner with key stakeholders to continually embed Audio’s Purpose, Mission, Vision and Values and People Strategy, bringing these to life throughout all touch points of the employee lifecycle and working with colleagues across the business to support wellbeing and cultural initiatives.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate significant generalist HR capabilities with strong employee relations, organisational design and restructuring skills to effect changes in a timely and commercially focused environment. You will be used to working both hands on day to day operationally and influencing at a senior level.
You will have a sound understanding of the varied practicalities of engaging employees, freelancers and IR35 contractors and provide practical guidance to managers in this area.
Our Team
You will be joining the Audio People and Culture Team reporting to the People and Culture Director. We are a creative, friendly, supportive team with many years experience working in the Media industry. We are always willing to help and pride ourselves in being there for each other as well as the wider business. The role has lots of variety, from different projects that arise to the different brands that we look after like Greatest Hits Radio, KISS, Absolute, KERRANG!, Jazz FM, Scala and many more.
We work to a hybrid working model, you will be expected to work from home and from one of our UK Offices. We have flexibility on where this role can be based in the UK, we have offices in Manchester, London, Glasgow, Peterborough, Edinburgh, Leeds plus more.
What you'll do
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and managers, providing expert guidance, coaching and support in all areas of employee relations including more complex ER matters.
- Provide effective guidance and support around areas such as conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, performance management and employee engagement.
- Support the P&C Director in ensuring business structures, frameworks and systems that are optimal and support business growth and aspirations
- Partner with the function leads in organisation design and architecture supporting our ambition to create clear career pathways and development for all
- Support P&C Director with HR projects within the business identifying risk, challenges and working to agreed timeline
- Ensure that the business has fair and transparent people practices to maintain positive working relationships
- Advise, guide and coach on the variances underpinning employment, freelance and IR35 contractor engagements and provide appropriate and practical guidance to managers to effectively manage these different contractual engagements.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues to identify and implement appropriate employee wellbeing initiatives, role and performance evaluation initiatives and career development plans.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues to continually review our compensation and benefits offering in line with market trends, industry standards and business objectives.
- Stay up to date with employment laws and best practice to ensure HR policies and practices comply with legal requirements and support our ambition to remain an employer of choice.
- Draw insight from HR data and analytics to identify relevant reporting and subsequent trends, develop insights and make data driven recommendations to improve HR planning and initiatives
What you'll bring
• CIPD qualification and proven experience as a HR Business Partner or similar role, preferably in a fast paced commercial environment
- Proven experience dealing with complex employee relations matters, organisational design and restructures. Experience supporting business acquisitions and collective consultation processes highly desirable.
- Sound understanding and practical application of managing varied contractual engagements for employees, freelancers and IR35 contractors is highly desirable.
- Robust knowledge of HR principles, HR practice and employment law
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching and communications skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels within the business
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with senior leaders and influence decision making
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion
- Proficient in HRIS systems and other HR related software
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously
