Job Overview
Aligned to a business function, the Business Partner works alongside key stakeholders in the business to help implement the business strategy from a people perspective. Acting as the point of people expertise for their business area, they work with the management team to deliver creative, solution focussed and innovative ways of working that allow the business to deliver its strategic goals in a sustainable and consistent manner.
The Business Partner adds value to Admiral’s people processes, combining their in-depth knowledge of their business area and the wider company strategy, HR practices and employment law. Their HR expertise is essential to any organisational change, applying the colleague lens when implementing new processes and providing guidance on people practices such as job design, restructures, performance management and succession planning.
Key tasks
- Proactively partner with Admiral’s leaders and operational managers to reach strategic and operational goals through their people. Collaborating in planning and delivering the people strategy, collating data points, interpreting MI and advising actions for improvement, are all central to the BP role.
- Working with HR centres of excellence such as Reward, L&D and Recruitment to lead people-centred workstreams and projects in their business area.
- Provide HR advice and guidance on complex and/or high-risk employee relations issues. Oversee and guide cases handled by People Services Executives.
- Manage complex case reviews, appeals, grievances and escalated disciplinaries.
- Coaching line managers to resolve people issues through absence management, welfare meetings and performance management.
- Improve organisational capability by collaborating with specialist teams in PS and business managers to drive high-performance culture within PS and the wider business.
- Working with specialist PS teams and management to ensure Admiral recruits and retains talented people who display the right behaviours and values consistently through the recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce.
- Lead, develop and motivate the PSE teams, to be Custodians of Admiral’s culture, living the company values/behaviours and leading by example.

Experience
- Generalist HR experience, working at a strategic level with business leaders.
- People management experience.
Education
- Preferable degree level.
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent an advantage, but not essential.
