About the role
Job Title: HR Business Analyst (FTC)
Reports to: HR Project Manager & Head of Portfolio and Business Change Delivery
Main Function: Information Technology
Reporting to the Head of Portfolio and Business Change Delivery, the HR Business Analyst will be responsible for all business analyst activities for the upcoming HR and Payroll System Implementation Project, including process analysis and re-engineering, and the delivery of a solution that meets business requirements. The Business Analyst will liaise with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. With a history of successfully working with HR teams and business systems to deliver business change, the HR Business Analyst plays a pivotal role by being the glue between business and technology teams to successfully deliver schuh’s people objectives.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy
- Collaborate on building business cases with benefits / ROI
- Build out option analysis documents for significant project decisions
Execution
- Facilitate the creation of user stories and the translation of these into requirements for the technical teams to deliver
- Work with business and IT Teams to build out functional and technical requirements
- Work with vendors to convey requirements and review system options for delivering these requirements, supporting the presentation to business teams as necessary
- Develop business requirements documentation, impact analysis, and functional specifications
- Work with HR to build out as-is and to-be process documentation, identifying opportunities for efficiencies or improvement
- Act as a key member of the HR & Payroll Project team, participating in design workshops to make sure requirements are appropriately understood
- Represent the business in technical meetings
- Develop data flow and activity diagrams
- Facilitate the generation of testing documentation
- Lead the unit, functional and integration testing during project execution
- If needed, develop training documentation and conduct training sessions as required
- Create and maintain project documentation
- Provide regular communication to all stakeholders
Handover and Close
- Build knowledge articles for handover to business teams
- Plan and conduct operational handovers to Support teams
- Participate in continuous improvement activities for the IT department and Delivery team
THE PERSON:
- Proven experience with HR and/or Payroll business and system change, ideally within the FMCG industry
- Experience in continuous improvement and/or transformation and change
- Extensive experience in business process improvement
- Certification in Business Analysis
- Experience with custom development applications as well as commercial of the shelf systems
- Ability to effectively communicate with both business and technology teams to convey messages between teams
- Detail-oriented and meticulous, paired with the ability to understand the broader business context and strategic importance
- Strong facilitator
- Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills
- Superior problem solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong skills in Excel, Word, MS Project and MS Visio
- Bachelor's Degree in a business or technology related field (desired)
- Experience working for a HR department/ Business Systems

Neilson Square is the home of our original warehouse and distribution centre, as well as many head office functions. Situated in Livingston, our site is in-between Edinburgh and Glasgow and very easily reached by car and public transport.
