The HR Booth are supporting our client with the recruitment of a HR Assistant.


Location: Office, East Kilbride


Main purpose of the role

Our client is looking for an experienced HR Assistant who is extremely well-organised with a proven track record of balancing multiple priorities through a flexible and adaptable approach to work.

You will be the first point of contact for day to day HR in the business, supported by a wider HR Team including HR Consultant who will be available to mentor you in your role. You will play a key role working independently but support the wider organisation and have accountability to ensure that you provide consistent and timely support to all our teams.


Key Tasks

  • Supporting managers with recruitment, lifecycle administration such as applications, arranging interviews, issuing contracts
  • Accurately process and record employees on HRIS
  • Ensure all new hires are on boarded correctly
  • Manage paperwork in relation to probationary periods, contract changes, flexible working requests etc
  • Follow up on sickness absence, medical certificates etc on our HRIS
  • Process all leaver information correctly, ensure correct calculation of outstanding holidays for payroll
  • Update the Company intranet with internal vacancies and other relevant HR information
  • Update HR templates
  • Assist and perform HR activities to provide support across the business
  • Provide first line employment advice
  • Occasional travel to other company locations within the UK
  • Any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with the role


Essential Attributes

  • Confident dealing with data and reporting
  • Previous experience using HRIS as well as Microsoft word, excel and outlook
  • Ability to multi task
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • IT literate
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Eager to learn and develop
  • Hold a current valid driving licence


Desirable Attributes

  • Formal administration qualification
  • Working towards HR qualification
  • Prior knowledge of manufacturing within the timber or door and window industry
