ASR Group is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar. As our HR Assistant, you will play a crucial role in executing the full employee life cycle. You will work closely with senior HR representatives and collaborate with stakeholders to build rapport and establish trust. The role will be based at our Thames Refinery site in East London with the option of Hybrid working.
What will you be doing
This role will allow you to get involved with all key areas of HR - Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Employee Engagement, Employee Relations, Reward, Learning and Development.
You will;
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders and the HR team to understand hiring needs and proactively plan recruitment activities.
- Ensure a seamless and positive candidate experience by managing the end-to-end hiring process, including recruitment, phone screening, interviews, background checks, and medical evaluations.
- Welcome new hires with a comprehensive induction program, ensuring their smooth assimilation into our organisation.
- Conduct exit interviews to gather valuable insights and support continuous improvement in employee experience and retention.
- Develop and execute programs and initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience.
- Provide supportive guidance and advice to employees and supervisors when needed, showing empathy and understanding.
- Effectively administer the absence policy, tracking compliance and issuing formal letters as necessary.
- Assist with investigations by collecting relevant information and evidence.
- Support in conducting investigations and prepare clear and concise written communications, such as invitations to hearings.
- Administer regular and annual processes in accordance with Collective Agreement.
- Provide accurate data and reports to facilitate effective union and employee communications.
- Proactively ensure compliance with legal, statutory, and company policies and procedures, ensuring the integrity of HR-related processes and programs.
- Maintain and update our HRIS system accurately recording employee changes (new hires, changes, terminations, promotions, transfers, etc.).
- Support organizational development efforts by preparing formal letters, notices, and coordinating meetings to facilitate growth and positive change.
- Provide valuable data and reports to enable analysis and strategic decision-making.
- Contribute to the development, delivery, and evaluation of training programs that build the capabilities of our employees, helping them reach their full potential.
What are we looking for
We are searching for an experienced talented HR individual, either CIPD qualified or qualified by experience and perhaps looking to study CIPD.
Experience in HR administration or related roles, emphasizing a people-focused approach.- Strong understanding of HR processes and procedures, with a genuine passion for supporting employees.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information discreetly.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, enabling you to create impactful documents and reports.
- Strong attention to detail and outstanding organisational abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
