Core Purpose
· To support and assist the Head of HR in providing a forward thinking, responsive and professional HR service.
Main Responsibilities
Recruitment and Retention
· To work alongside relevant school staff to assist with recruitment – drafting adverts and assisting with application packs.
· To administer the Trust’s vacancy board and publish on other appropriate websites and platforms to provide maximum exposure.
· To invite shortlisted candidates to interview and ensure references are available for the panel.
· To ensure pre-employment checks are complete and compliant – DBS, right to work, references, medical, Qualified Teacher Status and other qualifications.
· To ensure employment related documentation is processed in line with Trust requirements – offer letters and Catholic Education Service contract of employment.
· To ensure exit questionnaires are issued to leavers and data collated to analyse and support the reduction of staff turnover.
· To update the single central record and ensure this is complaint with safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
Employee Relations
· To provide initial advice on CES and Trust policies, signposting Headteachers, Senior Leaders and all other staff as necessary. Escalating to the Head of HR where appropriate.
· To support on-site/virtual visits to schools, such as note taking and return to work meetings if required.
· To provide initial advice on absence management, helping interpret sickness information. To assist with occupational health referrals ensuring they are administered efficiently and fit notes are kept up to date and cover all periods of absence.
Induction, Talent/Performance Management and Wellbeing
· To support an effective induction programme for teaching and support staff.
· To support the consistent application of performance management by monitoring annual completion rates and review periods.
· To support the delivery of wellbeing and talent management initiatives.
Reports and Workforce Statistics
· To produce ad hoc reports and workforce statistics on the following;
o Return to work interviews
o Sickness and leave of absence
o Occupational health referrals
o Staff turnover / appointments
Compliance
· To provide HR administrative support to ensure the timely submission of the statutory annual return to the Department for Education, Catholic Education Service and other agencies.
· To ensure accurate employee records are securely maintained on the HR system and are held in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
· To provide HR and administrative support to maintain the single central record and to support the safeguarding of young people.
Additional Responsibilities
· To attend meetings as required.
· To perform any task or duty under the reasonable direction of senior staff within the multi-academy trust.

Operational Arrangements
· 37 hours per week Monday to Friday
· Term-time plus 2 weeks
· The post holder will be based at the Trust Head Office in Padiham. However, some travel between schools within the Trust will be required.

Salary: £19,464.00-£21,312.00 per year
