The Croydon and Behavioural & Developmental Psychiatry Directorate are offering an exciting opportunity for a proactive and proficient Clinical Service Lead to work within the four SLaM Community Forensic Team (Lambeth, Southwark, Croydon and Lewisham). South London and Maudsley has a rich history, well established community teams and an international reputation. We are committed to providing high quality and specialist care to our service users.

The successful candidates will have exceptional communication, be motivational, influencing and quality improvement skills, be able to influence and encourage teams to work across organisational boundaries whilst holding patient care at the heart of their work. The candidate will need to be passionate about the delivery of high-quality patient care and have experience in leadership. The post holder needs to be able to work autonomously as well as part of multi professional teams.
Responsible for the operational management and professional leadership and mental health services within the Forensic Community Mental health teams (Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and Croydon). With delegated responsibility to ensure that performance and budgetary objectives are met.
The Clinical Service lead provides clinical and operational leadership in the BDP and Croydon Operational Directorate which works with some of the most complex individuals in terms of their needs. The role also includes participating and leading the local delivery of Trust objectives. The post holder will provide clinical and operational leadership to teams within their service line to maximise effectiveness and efficiency of service provision. The aim is to ensure integrated clinical, operational; quality financial outcomes are achieved within the service line.
To be responsible for exploring current practice, identifying areas for development, and planning the appropriate change using current evidence to evaluate outcomes
To be responsible for the quality of the patient care and lead on facilitating changes which improve the patient experience

Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Recognised Professional Qualification Registered Mental Nurse or RMN, Social Work (DipSW/CQSW) Psychology or other allied professions
- Degree or equivalent experience

- MSc
- Management Course

- Significant experience at a senior management level, including managing change and introducing new ways of working for all professions
- Experience of multi-professional collaboration at a senior level
- Partnership working with other statutory and voluntary agencies
- Experience of setting, monitoring and evaluating standards of care
- Leadership skills especially the ability to lead and manage change thorough influence without direct management
- Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and knowledge of methods to develop culturally sensitive practice
- Experience of working within the NHS or related public sector organisation
- Ability to support, manage and advise the teams through difficult and challenging situations
- Ability to manage conflict effectively
- Experience of racial awareness/diversity training
- Experience of research, publication and presentation
