Purpose and Duties
Purpose
To actively contribute to providing a high quality Human Resources service to the College. To work collaboratively with the HR team to ensure the delivery of people management, training and development, attendance management and payroll related objectives. To ensure the accuracy of HR data records and the effective running of recruitment activities.
Duties
- To support and contribute to the development, and delivery of Human Resources initiatives.
- To conduct Recruitment and Selection activities, including the responsibility for placing advertising and organising assessment centres.
- To provide front line payroll services, including to independently running the payroll.
- To be responsible for the creation and maintenance of accurate and up to date records relating to all HR matters that meet audit requirements.
- To assist with the delivery of the college training and development plan, organising and recording training and development events and activities.
- To provide support and guidance to managers and employees on aspects of people management and the college HR policies and procedures.
- To support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, which are in line with current employment law, best practice and reflective of the College’s strategic intentions.
- To provide administrative support including producing reports and contracts, monitoring and maintaining Single List records and supporting employee relations case work.
- To be responsible for the new starter process including obtaining references, the monitoring the DBS process for staff (and other relevant documentation) and conducting HR inductions.
- To undertake specific project work, under the direction and guidance of the Human Resources Manager.
- To undertake in-house and other training in order to develop and improve customer services responses and maintain up to date working knowledge of designated college systems and procedures.
- Ensure continuous development and improvement of personal professional knowledge.
- Any other duties, of a similar level of responsibility, as may be required.
