Ben’s Cookies are looking to recruit a Payroll/HR Assistant to work in the Human Resources Department in the offices based in Chalgrove. This is a 1-year fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
The purpose of the role is to process the weekly and monthly payroll alongside the current Payroll/HR Assistant, manage the recruitment function for the Production facility, as well as support the HR function of the business.
Main responsibilities
- Process weekly and monthly payroll in accurate and timely manner.
- Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll related matters.
- Manage and review timesheets.
- Preparing and issuing earnings statements.
- Make BACS payments.
- Support with recruitment process, advertising, arranging interviews, liaising with recruitment agencies.
- Assist with the on/off boarding process
- Maintaining employee records.
- Assist with the day-to-day administration of the HR Department.
- Maintain holiday and absence records.
- Support implementation of new HRM system.
Knowledge & Skills
Experience:
- Sage is an advantage, but training will be provided.
- Proficient with Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Previous experience of Payroll and HR is essential.
Skills / Competencies / Attributes:
- Knowledge of HR procedures and employment legislation.
- Clear communicator and a team player.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Highly organised – ability to prioritise, keep track of own workload and work to deadlines.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
This role is a 1-year fixed term contract starting in September 2023.
Office-based, full-time, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
The business does not close on bank holidays and due to the running of the weekly payroll, you would be expected to work some of them.
Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 depending on skills and experience.
Discretionary bonus payable on completion of contract.
33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays).
