Job Description Summary

Fancy being part of building the biggest Offshore Wind Farm in the world, look no further. Offshore Wind is looking for a HR Apprentice to join our team based in either South Shields or Able Seaton Port to complete a 2 Year Apprenticeship (Level 3 in HR support). This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. You’ll get an opportunity to work closely with the HRBP of Offshore Wind and partner to improve employee engagement, culture and talent management whilst collaborating closely with people leaders, employees, and cross functional teams.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

You will have an opportunity to make a real impact during your time with us. Assignments vary by the different businesses in Northeast but are guaranteed to be challenging and rewarding. Your Apprentice will be focused on specific HR areas such as:

  • Support the HRBP by being a point of contact for HR related issues
  • Employee engagement initiatives ideas.
  • Work on innovative solutions to key HR challenges.
  • Support with GE volunteering and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) events.
  • Bring fresh perspective and introduce contemporary ideas.
  • Support the wing-to-wing recruitment process for Apprentices, Graduates, Apprentices and Hourly paid employees, including improving recruitment through social media platforms and employee referral programs.
  • Track and support HRBP on overseas recruitment, immigration & agreements.
  • Support on-boarding and induction process for new hires.
  • HR Administrative support including data management, time and attendance and various HR reports.
  • Support the HRBP in tasks such as Maternity, Paternity, Parental Leave and Flexible Working requests
  • Assist with integration projects ready for the spin-off.
  • Assist in any other admin tasks as requested by HRBP.
  • Ensure confidentiality is always maintained.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • HR administration experience would be an advantage.
  • Competent with MS Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • The successful candidate to study at New College Durham to complete their Level 3 - Advanced Apprenticeship in Human Resources Support.
