If this sounds like you, then Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) has a fantastic opportunity to join our dedicated, driven and friendly HR team, as a Human Resources Apprentice.

This is an exciting time to join the MOPAC as we launch our new People Strategy and deliver the Mayor’s manifesto, the Police and Crime Plan, and support reform in the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). MOPAC is the organisation through which the Mayor exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, the Deputy Mayor and the Metropolitan Police Service to achieve our vision that London is a safe city for all.
Opportunity
This apprenticeship combines working in a great job, exposure to comprehensive development opportunities in a fascinating public sector organisation a competitive salary commencing at £26,703 per annum and over six weeks holiday each year!
The apprenticeship consists of a 21-month-long opportunity to build on your organisational and communication skills and apply your ‘can-do’ attitude whilst working towards a CIPD Level 3 foundation qualification. We want you to succeed so you will spend one day a week on this study.
Role
You will support a wide range of HR activities, including; recruitment, induction, payroll, learning and development, You will be exposed to all aspects of HR and is the perfect role if you are looking to start a career in HR.
We are looking for enthusiasm, dedication and an interest in all things People! You will also need either 2 A level at grade C or equivalent qualifications OR relevant entry-level experience.
Apprenticeship Progression
After you have successfully completed your apprenticeship, you will have gained valuable workplace experience and a professional qualification. We will support you so you are best placed to secure the next step of your HR career.

Political Restriction
Political Restriction; under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption.
Security Vetting Clearance
The successful candidates will be expected to undergo the necessary security vetting which may take around 8 weeks to be completed. Applicants will also need to have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.

Where are we based?
We have moved to a hybrid working model with office hubs at Union Street (near London Bridge) and Newlands Park (postcode SE26). On average staff will work 1-2 days a week from an Office Hub, but this may differ depending on the role requirements.
