Fox Morris are working with London Borough of Merton Council in relations to finding a HR Advisor (Employee Relations) to start work ASAP!
Responsibilities
· To provide a professional and comprehensive advisory and consultancy role and deliver wide ranging operational HR services to Departmental managers (including schools) in order to achieve the Department’s business objectives through maximising the use of staff skills and talents.
· Acts as part of the Advice and Consultancy HR team to contribute to the continued development and implementation of a quality, comprehensive and cost-effective human resource service to council departments and schools. Acts as member of the wider HR Divisional Team to deliver the wider HR objectives of the London Borough of Merton and HR Division.
· Provides advice and support to line management on a wide range of individual and collective HR issues such as the operation of people management policies, recruitment and selection, payroll notification, terms and conditions, job evaluation, reward, employee relations, talent, performance, organisation development/change, culture, leadership and learning and development, in accordance with policy, procedures and best practice exercising judgement within these to deliver solutions to employment issues.
· Undertakes analysis, produce and evaluate options on specific issues relating to employees. Ensures that the HR aspects of the business processes are fully taken into account by line managers. Ensures that line managers are aware of key HR issues and acting as a business partner, communicate effective HR strategies and solutions to ensure sound business decisions are made.
· Undertakes and/or assists investigations of complex employee cases such as those falling within the scope of the Council’s Grievance, Disciplinary, Capability, Dignity at Work and Absence Procedures at all stages. This will include case paper preparation and attendance/participation in hearings and appeals and support at Tribunals. Ensure consistent compliance with relevant policy and practice whilst skilfully exercising the high degree of judgement required to advise on appropriate courses of action in all cases including the most complex, having regard to the individual circumstances
You will be required to work Monday-Friday (9:00-5:00pm). This is based on a 6 month contract and the pay negotiable.

Salary: £24.56-£28.00 per hour
