Job description
The RPS UK Services division has a unique opportunity to build a new team of HR Advisors due to internal and external promotions. This new team build will result in the creation of a profession pragmatic HR team directly supporting employees and managers across the Services division.
Attitude is more important than anything else - you will do the right thing by the people and the business. Your stakeholders will want to involve you, and you will be proud to work as part of the team.
You will be of degree calibre, with Psychology, Business and HR degrees being of particular interest, but we recognise that University was not for everyone and so we are welcoming of everyone who can demonstrate intellectual rigour. Additionally, you will have either already achieved CIPD membership, or have plans to study for full CIPD membership - we can sponsor you to achieve this.
We want to hear from candidates who have an existing level of HR experience and good knowledge of HR best practice already, e.g., you may have a history of designing and delivering training to your peers, representing them in employee hearings or supporting restructures etc.
This is a hybrid role which includes regular travel across the UK. Notably, you will be spending two - three times per week at different business sites meeting your key stakeholders along with weekly time spent at the Derby office.
What you’ll be doing
You will be acting as an ambassador for the business and be involved in working on your own initiative and being pro-active in providing support to the business in their day-to-day management of all employees to enable the business to manage effectively. You will never sit on the fence. Your judgement makes the difference.
Core components of the role will include:
- HR Advisory support
- Employee Relations Casework
- HR Reporting
Who we’re looking for
This isn’t a business for the light-hearted - this is proper HR - successful people are billed out to our clients, so the wrong decision will cost the business money. You can expect to deal with business and people issues, then explore the crevices and under the rocks and make sure things don’t reoccur. You will be firm but fair.
Therefore, we need your:
-
Commitment to continuous professional development in the HR discipline
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality, tailored HR Support.
- Experience of HR from different organisations/sectors under a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to travel across the UK.
What’s in it for you?
We will provide you with a flexible, friendly and creative environment to develop your skills and challenge yourself. We support our people to innovate, collaborate and build meaningful careers.
We solve problems that matter. In this role you will make tough choices, you cannot sit and admire the problem, but you will deal with it, then make sure things don’t reoccur. You will be firm but fair. You will share the belief that people genuinely and generally want to do the right thing to enhance their professional experience and the business performance.
