We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed HR Advisor to join our HR team at our Head Office on Pride Park in Derby.
What are we looking for?
A hands-on person who consistently delivers results and builds relationships at all levels.
You will have strong practical experience and knowledge of all HR processes and procedures. Also have experience in recruitment at all levels. You will use these skills to build the confidence and capability of our managers, guiding them through sensitive and difficult matters, providing a level of coaching and support.
Reporting to the HR Director, you will support the business’ goals and ambitions, working closely with your colleagues in the HR and L&D team to deliver a great, pro-active HR service. We have over 850 employees across our various sites and your role may require travel to these sites.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional with a broad range of HR generalist skills who is keen to put their expertise to use.
What will you be doing?
Your core responsibilities will be:
- Provide full, generalist HR duties to the company across the various sites
- Provide recruitment advice and guide managers with our recruitment process
- Effective case management of people related issues such as: disciplinaries, performance management, grievance and absence management
- Be confident in supporting managers in the employee life cycle
- Train and coach managers in people management practices, HR policies and procedures as well as best practices
- Maintain strong engagement with key stakeholders and consistently demonstrate high standards of work and confidence in the services we deliver.
- Keep an active and solid understanding of employment law changes to assist in the creation and constant development of policies, procedure and promoting best practice.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices and look for new and efficient ways of working
- Generate MI data and analysis for directorates and departments
- Support the development of the HR Assistant and provide supervisory guidance where necessary
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Confidence in approach to advice stakeholder at all levels on a wide variety of employee relations case work including - disciplinary, performance management, capability, sickness, absence, and complex cases
- Up to date knowledge of employment law and practice
- Excellent attention to detail in all aspects of the job, as well as productivity and efficiency
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Flexible and adaptable to the day-to-day business needs and demands
- Excellent team player who works well with others and shows inclusive behaviours
- Ability to work autonomously
- Effective communication and listening skills
- Willingness to achieve and work towards results – ‘can do attitude’
- Use of own initiative to improve work performance
- Good IT skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and HR systems
