Due to an increase in workload, we are seeking to appoint a Human Resources Administrator to work in our fast-paced and challenging HR environment within the welcoming and supportive Service Delivery teams. This is an ideal opportunity to gain hands-on HR experience.
You’ll have the opportunity to gain new skills and take part in HR-related projects to support the University’s strategic aims and continually improve our services. No two days are the same with a wide variety of recruitment processes which are constantly evolving. We are currently operating flexible location principles with both remote working and time on campus required.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will participate in the work of the Hourly Paid team as part of the HR operational support to the University.
This team provides Human Resources support for new staff casual and hourly-paid staff such as Visiting Lecturers, for their full employee life cycle.
We manage a high workload, often multi-tasking and prioritising our processes to meet the demands of stakeholders and managers. You will liaise with staff at all levels across the University, and may be producing offer letters and contracts, completing Right to Work, DBS and UKVI checks, processing leavers, answering general day to day queries, and providing a high standard of customer service to all stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
You will have good organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. A methodical approach is needed, and your application will show you are able to prioritise a busy and varied workload. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential. You will be a strong team player with the ability to engage with colleagues and work independently. You will be a good communicator (written and verbal) with a strong customer focus.
Previous experience in administration, maybe within a Higher Education Institution or within Human Resources, would be advantageous. If you have the skills and commitment to customer service which we’re looking for then we’d love to receive an application from you; this is a great opportunity for someone keen to develop their HR knowledge and experience.
Please use your Personal Statement or upload a Supporting document which shows how you meet the Essential criteria in the Person Specification.
Qualifications Required
You will hold GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, or higher qualifications or proven professional work experience; CIPD membership would be advantageous.
